Kindergartners Learn About Community Helpers from Stenwood Community!
In FCPS, Kindergarteners learn about Economics as part of their Social Studies curriculum. To enhance their learning and experience real world connections, Stenwood's kindergarten team invites community members to visit their classroom to share with students about their job, what they do everyday, how their job helps our community, and what they enjoy most about it. Below is an ongoing list of community helpers who visit our school!

Radiologist Veterinarian Technician
Colin's mom shares how she helps the community through caring for pets, specifically radiology therapy for pets with cancer. Students were able to hold bite blocks used while pets receive treatment.

Cameron's dad came into school to talk to a kindergarten class what doctors do and how they help our community. Students enjoyed his stories and seeing him in uniform!
Pharmacist and Dentist
Henry's mom and dad's visit focused on teaching us about what pharmacists and dentists do and how they help our community. Students also learned the importance of dental hygiene and medicine safety.
