English Language Arts
Outcome
● The percentage of students with disabilities in grades K-2 in the "low risk" band of the VALLSS screener will increase at least a minimum of 5% points from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025.
● The percentage of students in grades K-2 in the "low risk" band of the VALLSS screener will increase at least a minimum of 5% points from Fall 2024 to Spring 2025.
Strategies
● Improve daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology by using the new core curriculum.
● Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of the language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum.
● Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that students demonstrating risk master foundational skills.
Mathematics
Outcome
● By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage multilingual students passing the grades 3-6 Mathematics SOL will increase from 53% to 58%. By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage multilingual students passing the grades 3-6 Mathematics SOL will increase from 34% to 39%.
● By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage of students in grades 3-6 scoring pass/pass advanced on the Math SOL will increase from 88% to 93%.
Strategies
● Increase teachers' content knowledge and implementation of the 2023 FCPS mathematics program of studies.
● Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.
● Increase formal collaboration between classroom teachers and ESOL teachers to develop the language of mathematics through the use of embedded strategies during whole group and small group instruction.
Portrait of a Graduate (POG)
Outcome
● By the end of SY 2024-25, the percent of 3rd grade students in "emerging" will decrease from 44% to 30% on the POG POL rubric, as seen in RUBI
● By the end of SY 2024-2025 100% of students in grades 1-6 will participate in a full POG POL
● By the end of SY 2024-2025 100% of kindergarteners will share at least 1 artifact that demonstrates a POG attribute
Strategies
- Together with students, co-construct with a class what the skill looks and sounds like and make the skill visible in the classroom.
- Create portfolios dedicated to documenting growth in POG/ATL attributes and skills
- Create opportunities for students to share their growth in a POG POL.
